i have the origional windows Xp CD but i have lost the CD KEy. how can i use this cd.
You need the CD Key. If you have the original packaging and the receipt, call Microsoft and tell them the problem. They are very good with customers who have actually paid for their products and they can fix your problem.
If I remember correctly, there is an identification in the inner ring of the CD, very close to the center, which they can identify your CD as authentic. At most times, if you lose the CD Key, it's a lost case, and you can only use the CD for repair, recovery etc., not any new installation or re-installation. You may try to give Microsoft Support a call to see if they can help you in any way, and hopefully, they will ask you for the identification in the inner ring of the CD. Good Luck!
