Cell phones/twitter/email-chat: filling a need? or creating a desire? (to exchange information).
Technology has produced the means to communicate; cell phones, the internet, chat features, twitter etc. While it is best not to get trapped in trying define the word 'communicate' people are exchanging information more...is this a need being met by technology or is it technolgy creating a need to communicate (more and more)?
Technology having way to have simpler communication and much better if this has a nice thing here.
Great question! I lean towards the idea that technology is creating superficial desires for constant information and communication. People used to be satisfied with mailing letters, now it's mainstream to type an instant message to a phone, even if it's a personal matter. I don't think the needs have always been there. The rapid development of technology, along with the growing distance between people and their communities has made people dependent on these means of information exchange.
