    Is the new Boeing 787 dreamliner safe?

    are composite materials safe to use in aircraft?

    Nobody knows for sure. You can't be sure before some accidents happen. They must have tried everything to ensure safety, but still you can't be sure about that. Accident can happen anytime.

    I don't see any problem with composite materials.

    Until one falls from the sky, I will certainly trust them. Composite materials have already been used in fighter jets and experimental aircraft. Besides, all safety is relative. Nothing is 100% safe, even the oxygen in the air is slowly damaging the mitochondria in your cells. Driving to the airport is probably riskier than any plane you will ever fly in. In this country, hydroelectric dams have killed a lot more people than nuclear reactors.

    The standards for safety in aviation are very high ... as i learnt after talking to a pilot ... from a statistical point of view air travel is much safer than driving a car.

    I think it will be safe.
