Do you agree with Google, Facebook Twitter, and others saying SOPA is Internet Censorship? Why?
Yes Sopa is bad for the freedom of the internet. The internet was made free and it will have to remain free.
Yes, I certainly agree with the majority of the big internet players.
As it is, PIPA and SOPA are too loosely defined, and could be used to force most internet sites offline (or block access to them).
Having copyrighted content used incorrectly on a site, or linking to another page/site that has copyrighted content used incorrectly, could be used to force one or both sites offline. Some infringements (streamed media, a la YouTube) carry jail sentences, as well as forcing the site offline.
I certainly don't support plagiarism, or stealing of copyrighted content. But for sites such as Wikipedia, Google search, Google documents, YouTube, HubPages, Amazon (reviews), Twitter, Facebook, etc., all of which have user-generated content in some form or another, it is *impossible* for them to police everything thoroughly within their own sites, let alone on all of the pages linked to from their sites.
And copyright infringement is just one aspect of SOPA / PIPA.
