How do you know that Google and other search engines have indexed your hub or is it automatic?

Your stats page will show you where your views are coming from. Google should be in the top two or three for sure.

Also, you can go to 'Webmaster Tools" on Google, and do a diagnostic for the Googlebot.  That is where you can submit your hub/page, to Google to spider.

You can use the Site command to check on the Google search engine to see if your hub has been indexed by them. If your hub comes back in the search results then it's been indexed. I don't know what command to use on Yahoo and Bing to check.

For Google, just go to Google.com and type in the Site command. For example, type in Site:Your Hub's URL
