Canon or Nikon?
What is your favorite brand of Digital Camera? Is it Canon or Nikon? Or you have any other choice?
I bought my first Canon in 1970, an FT with a 1.2 lens, and I've had several since until my current Canon 40D. I've been happy with all of them. Can't comment on Nikon since I've never owned one. My impression is that Canon's technology and products have surpassed Nikon's. Nikon cameras are frequently advertised as on sale at reduced prices which is not a good sign.
Oh, the age old question that never gets old. Just like a Mac vs. PC question.
I have a Canon Rebel that I like. But it is bulky. It's an older model. I had a friend that wouldn't use anything but Nikons. I think both are good.
I used Canon A470 for about three years. It has excellent result. One of my friends used a Nikon but I didn't like the result. In my opinion, Canon works best.

I am looking for suggestions for decent brands, and any observations you folks may have on buying a used DSLR camera. My digital point-and-shoot, which has taken very good photos for the last 5 or more years, has crapped out. In no way can I afford a new DSLR; even used ones seem to be out of...
