My website was hacked recently. My questions is what benefits do they get from it?
I think some just enjoy doing this because it shows that they have power. People in powerful situations love vulnerable people. If you run an e-commerce site, then your sales would take a hit. And if you rely on adsense or banner advertising, this could take revenue away from you.

It had no Hubpage money in it , but I froze my personal checking account associated with Paypal. I sm receivng emails, I believe, from a Paypal fraud site and also Paypal.

Did any one of you come across this problem of websites getting destroyed by hackers. Many official government sites,Educational sites are being hacked by Agencies. Can any one give tips to protect ourselves from this.
