Well you've to work hard on improving your blog with content that is relevant to the title of your blog. You need to put in something that people find interesting to read and explore. You must be a regular writer too and update your blog frequently (any how cannot say how frequently). And you also need to implement the SEO suggestions like including Keywords in your titles, headings, URLs, and bold tags. Avoiding saturated topics to write on, sharing your updates with your circles and leaving a call for action such as "reshares" and a notice of "thanks" after such a call of action is completed.
You may also focus on increasing your blog followers which is the returning traffic. You might know how important it is to retain customers, once you have them. Same is the technique in blogging which relies on increasing blog followers. You can offer email subscriptions, reader subscriptions and the like.

If we pump up our use of social media, i.e., marketing our articles more, will it help increase our traffic much? Or won't it make much difference because we are more dependent upon organic traffic? Something tells me we might have to wait out this drought. What say you?
