Is Hubpages actively promoting hubs?  Why don't even very popular hubs show in search results?

Hubpages do not show up in search results, at least not in first few pages.  Why?  I've tried searching even very popular writers and still nothing.

Have you tried sharing your hub links at share mediad? Hubpages provided the links but up to us to do the sharing

It depends largely on what topic the hub is about. A broad topic, like "how to write a book" will probably not show any results from hubpages. Where as a very specific topic, like "how to write science fiction with strong female leads" will be more likely to bring up a hub written under that topic.

As far as I know, HP does not actively promote hubs other than their immediate reach (their homepage/newsletter/social media pages). So, getting higher rankings in search engines falls on the writer of the hub. Which is it's own confusing logarithm of quality, length, buzz words, and frequency of sharing.
