Why does the Editbot show mistakes in the comment section of our hub, where we can't do corrections?
It corrected it for me. I am just ignoring it for now. My mistakes came up in the comment sections too. Nothing you can do or even need to do. Not many people read the comments anyways. I like the edit bot.
Thanks Lori, appreciate you answer. I hope the bot goes away.
It is just showing you what had been corrected already. There is nothing for you to correct. The Orange does not show up to others only you when you click on it to view the corrections, I believe.
You can revert the corrections to the original, even in the comments. I left the corrections intact, but the bot symbol is still by the hubs in my account. Annoying., I wish they'd go away!
Shyron......You mean "change" what the bot has done? As for "corrections"...that's what they've already done. Most of those corrections in the comment sections as far as I can see in my own hubs, are spelling and punctuation, etc....
If the bot has corrected something that we do not like or agree with, I guess we'd have to go to the trouble of contacting HP Team. What other option is there?
I think that check can be unchecked, but so far I would want the corrections in the comments to stay in my case. Haven't seen any in my hubs so far.
Faith...Right. My "corrections" are minimal & so far, all in my comment sections.I had 1 or 2 in a hub, & much appreciated corrections of simple errors. I HOPE they REMOVE the little "bot" once we've checked them! Or how will we know which we
Yes, I hope the "bots" go away after we leave them or uncheck them after a period of time. I have to watch when I make comments from my phone as the autocorrect on it changes to a word I don't want, and then I don't notice and then too late to edit.
If you do not like the corrections made, just click on the little box on the left with the check mark in it and the corrections are put back to the way they were.
I'm aware we can change corrections in our HUBS by simply using edit mode....but we can change corrections in our comments also, Au fait? I can't imagine wanting to change a spelling correction back to a misspelled word! LOL Oh well.
Yes, why would you want to uncheck it to allow a typo to remain?
Paula and Faith, I don't mind the corrections in my hubs which only amounted to 3 and I edited the hub and the bot would not go away. I don't worry about the typos in comments.
Thank you both for answering this question.
Paula, sorry took so long to get back. To my knowledge all you can do with corrections in comments is put them back as they were B4 bot by checking box left of change. janderson99-To get rid of bots: http://hubpages.com/forum/topic/13 Good luck!
You don't have to correct it, if it's corrected it to the right version for you.
I know some people have had an issue with it correcting UK English to US English spelling - but I use UK English spelling, and haven't had an issue - I've actually discovered that my own spelling in comments (usually cause I'm typing on a phone, or too fast!) is not the best!
The only problem I have found is that it likes to change "Te" in Te Reo Maori to "the" which ironically is the English meaning of "Te" - and Te Reo Maori does mean "The Maori Language" - but it just changes it to The Reo Maori....all I had to do was remove the check in the box in that particular hub and it was all sorted.
Otherwise I'm quite thankful to it!
I just checked my account. So far, all the errors the bots found were in comments, not my text. I wish those little bit symbols would disappear after we check our hubs!
Hey Sha.....My feelings exactly....I mentioned this too. I hope the little bot faces are removed after we've checked all of our hubs for corrections!! They're cute but spooky!! LOL
Thank you Sha, for answering this question. I had 3 typos in my hubs and I checked all of my hubs with the bot and fixed the mistakes and the bot would not go away. That is what irks me the bot. It is like the school teacher posts one tiny mistake.
I'm glad this question has been asked because I had been wondering about the creepy little robots myself. I am also wondering if they will go away.
Thank you Dana for answering this question. I do hope the bot goes away.
Marina just posted an update related to EditBot here.

I've come across a hub, now and then, without a comment section. Is this a choice made by the author? If so, why?

Is it rude to point out grammar/spelling mistakes on hubs via comments?I've come across numerous hubs that have grammar and spelling errors, some minor and some littered with mistakes. Otherwise, these hubs would be interesting and will written in my opinion. Is it rude to point out these mistakes...

How important is it to have a comment section on your hubs, or How important is it to respond?I was going through some of the hubs that belong to some of the top paid hubbers ( info found on the success story page) and a lot of those people do not respond to comments. In fact, many of their...
