I've been getting pingbacks from a site called StartTags.com on my belly dance site.
They keep getting caught by Akismet. I can't quite work out what the site is doing - if it's giving me useful links then I'll be nice and rescue their comments from the spam bucket, otherwise I won't bother.
Marisa if its just a pingback then that is a notification that the site linked to your site. I'm quite certain that you don't have to link back. Was it on a wordpress site?
Yes, I know I don't have to link back, I'm just thinking I should be polite. Yes, it's a Wordpress site - it's the only thing I know how to do!
I would only worry about linking back to sites that add value to my readers and that site really adds no value other than sort of a directory. Wordpress is great, its mostly what I use. I only ask because I believe the pingback notification is built into their system. It wasn't the other site letting you know they linked to you, it was the system.

I'm in the midst of looking for a Blogsite for a soon to be home based business. I will need to create and 'feed' the blog but as I'm a non-tech-savy-DoDo it needs to be easy to set-up and "operate". Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks ahead of time regards Zsuzsy
