I use godaddy, and it's fine.
I've heard hostgator is very good. I'll probably switch mine over next year as godaddy recently increased their rates (which is still dirt cheap).
here's an excellent, helpful hub with info and suggestion.

There are a lot of Hubbers who use Hostgator, so that's why I switched. I feel my sites load a little slower than they did at Hightek Hosting (an Aussie company I used to use) but otherwise, no complaints.
I've heard awful things about Godaddy and several negative comments about Bluehost.
There is one godaddy in my family and they have no complaints, but I suggestion using hostgator for its price and ability.
I have a question on this subject as well.
Can a sub-domain ever rank as well as having your own domain?
I have my own site, plus a few clients at http://laughingsquid.us/
