What has been your experience, results or failures using blogs to make money online? Or perhaps your biggest hurdle you had to overcome in order to make money using blogs.

Personally, my biggest obstacle was in coming to the realization that I deserved success just as much as anyone else, and that it wasn't just for a privledged few. Once I understood this fact, and accepted it as truth, then everything in my life changed; including my business.

I doubt I'd trust your experience on blogging.

Your site (with posts dating to 2008) doesn't appear to have backlinks, doesn't appear to have a pagerank with google and contains a lot of duplicated content.

I hope you do not think that HubPages' quality is that of blogs? It's not. HubPages is a unique writer's platform.

And, I also hope you do not use HubPages in the same manner as a blog. If so, then you will not be making much. Unless, you are not trying to earn from being here. You write to write, then so be it.

I have a blog, for which, I have not updated in a while. I have links back to it and not done much with it. It is only a stepping stone to my writing here at HubPages. Every so often, I share my blog with Facebook and Twitter.

Am I making money from my blog? Absolutely not. Not even in the impressions area. Only because I'm not active on it like I should be.

Am I making money on HubPages? Yes, monthly. Thank you. wink

Hey Tony, I reached my first payout 7 months after I started. That is just using Google Adsense on my hubs. I haven't made any money from Amazon, but then again, I do not write sales hubs.

I make money from those who click ads on my hubs that are not HubPages traffic. I am not going to make payout this month, but that is because of my short-sightedness and hasty decision about deleting a few hubs last month. One was flagged, which was my best click hub and traffic hub.

I couldn't see a way to fix the hub, so as to have ads on it and deleted it. However, I learned from that mistake and now know better, as to the guidelines of TOS(terms of service). smile

But, yes you can money on HubPages, and requires a lot more reading and effort on your part. wink

Are we related??????(joking)  You just learned how to turn your computer on 4 years ago, and me, I learned to type on a manual. This elec-tro tech-no thing is a bit of a challenge. I love writing, and in my day (not that many years ago either) things seemed sooooo much easier.

Another key to making money is to write consistently. Most o slack after some days and that inconsistency is very disturbing. You need to churn out content whether it is blogs or hubs like a job everyday and money will follow
