Many cheap Android tablets are coming to Indian market day by day. Is it showing the attitude of Indians to go behind low priced gadgets? . Is it the reason, behind the success of low cost gadget manufacturing companies like Micromaxx and Karbonn?. I have one more doubt, whether this is the reason why Quality tablet companies like Apple is not getting popularity in India

Apple products are expensive for those who have tight budget, cheap Android tablets are replacement of iPad for them.

Most Indians are always concerned about prices of gadgets. They always want more features in less price, So this is the reason why Micromax and Karbonn are more popular. They provide more features in less prices( Although their build quality is not good)

Please consider, a cheap Android tablet (or *any* Android tablet) is not really a replacement for an Apple product, since their gadgets run iOS.  Anyone who wants iOS (for example, a tablet that is compatible with their iPhone) will have to buy an Apple.  Some of us choose Android for a variety of reasons in addition to cost, "open-ness" being among them (the Android operating system is open source).

So, if you have a plethora of tablets to choose from, all running some version of Android, it makes sense that a large portion of the population will opt for the low-cost alternatives, not just in India, but anywhere.
