Air Taxi

Air taxi is the best thing that ever happened to air travel.

If you can afford to charter your next business trip, or your next vacation and there's a small airport nearby, isn't that almost like having an air taxi in your drive way?

You'll be surprise to know that on average in this country many small air ports are less than 20 miles away from your home. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) stated that here in the U.S. there's more than 5,000 small airports currently under used. So it appears that small airports usage capacity isn't being met, their not being utilized enough.

The earlier known Microjet, or now referred to has a very light jet (VLJ) has a single pilot and can seat 4-8 passengers, and guest what.

They can land and take off on runways 3,000 feet.

The Israel aircraft Gulfstream G150, once know as the Astra SPX by contrast only need 5,000 feet to land. This jet is considered a mid-sized business jet. These jets do possess the capability to fly long range, more than 3000 nautical miles, that's from East cost to West cost nonstop.

The very small light jet Eclipse 500, made by Eclipse Aviation; an Albuquerque, New Mexico based manufacturer, is a six seat business jet. This plane can certainly handle a cross country flight like this.

Smaller airport provide quicker departure and arrivals for travelers, and has I mention earlier millions of homes are near one. Imagine never having to deal with traffic, airport security and all the annoyances that come with using a commercial airport, instead, now all you have to do is take a quick drive to your neighboring air taxi.

Ownership of a private aircraft isn't cheap, the cost range from $1 million to $3 million, and a larger jet can easily cost $10 million. So owning one can be a challenge for some, but if you spread the ownership among partners this would lower the cost per partners, averaging the cost of a house in a big city. Several individuals or companies part ownership agreements would make having one at your disposal on short notification possible.

The latest private jets have the most up-to-date aviation electronics. What does that mean to you? Advance capability to depart and arrive in weather conditions that would have grounded their older versions. Small jets have a safety record that's comparable to that of any commercial airline on the globe.

They can comfortable provide accommodation to all passengers with higher cabin space. The high speed Gulfstream G150 is the ultimate choice in business travel; in 5 hours and 44 minutes this jet can take you 2,950 nautical miles, that's New York to L.A.

Once in a while it's nice to take city breaks to New York and catch-up on your Sports & Recreation Ebooks reading.

A little statistic:

• It has large 5'9" x 5'9" comfortable cabin.

• Cabin Length is 17 ft 8 in.

• Passenger capacity 6-8.Fuel cost in today's rising fuel prices isn't much of a issue with more efficient jet engines, sixty cents per mile have been reached.

There's no mandatory seating arrangement for business jets, or private jets, this also apply to private jet charter. Once you enter the plane you pick out the seat that you have a preference for.

Any time you feel the need to use the restroom; you don't have to ask the pilot permission, now mind you in cases were the Federal Aviation Administration safety regulations apply you have to follow them.

Stewards or stewardesses on these flights make sure the traveler is very comfortable.

You can compare it to the treatment you would have received fifty years ago if you were on a commercial flight. You remember those days when a can of soda cost ten cents; a gallon of gas was twenty five cents.

Eat what you want, when you want. No edging around food carts or personnel who have just been disappointed by the latest union contract negotiation.

On a private, or air charter planes you don't have to deal with any disgruntled passengers, what ever their reason. Eat has much of what ever you want, when you want too, because you choose the menu.

Private air charter, provide the same benefits you received from owning your own jet, example:

• Quick commutes

• Convenient flights

• Moderate security

• Reasonable cost

• Polite crews

• Relaxing conditionsWhat's not to love?

Air taxis just might be the best thing to happen to air travel since in the 1930s.

You might say that air taxi and the convenience they provide is the best thing that ever happened to air travel since the Key West, Florida 1930s Pan Am Clipper.
