India has some of the greatest longest largest beaches, though most of them are not clean and they are polluted. If you look for it, you can still find some beautiful and finest beaches all over the vast peninsular coastline of the vast India. Some of the best beaches in India include Palolem beach, Kovalam beach, Arjuna beach, Varkala beach and Island beaches. The long coastline and its diverse features make Top Indian beaches one of the favourite spots for tourists.

1. Palolem beach, Goa

Palolem beach is Goa's most beautiful and scenic beach and it has 1.5 km crescent shaped beach. Palolem beach offers dolphin cruises, canoe rides and water sports activities. There are a few shacks selling seafood snacks, souvenirs, and clothes. Palolem beach is suitable for a range of activities including sunbathing, swimming, bathing and water sports, and picnics making it one of the best beaches in India. You can rent motorbikes and bicycles. You can also visit butterfly beach and contigao wildlife sanctuary. Wildlife sanctuary is located just about 9 kms from Palolem. The best time to visit palolem beach is November and December.

Kovalam lies 10 kilometres south of Thiruvananthapuram, the capital of Kerala, the southern state in India. Kovalam is one of the popular beach hang outs in India as it consists of three adjacent crescent beaches. The southern most part of the beach known as lighthouse beach. The middle beach is called hawah and the northern most beach is called samudra. The beach complex includes ayurvedic health resorts, shopping zones, swimming pool and yoga. There are numerous craft shops, carpet shops, clothing stores and massage parlours lining the beach.

Anjuna is a small village in north Goa, on the shores of the Arabian Sea. Anjuna beach is about about 18 Km from panaji, and is surrounded by immense coconut groves. The Anjuna beach is famous for its trance parties that take place almost everyday. Anjuna beach offers plenty of activities incluging swimming, sunbathing, sand castles and water sports activities. Main attraction in anjuna beach, Goa are the albuquerque mansion, flea market and chapora fort. The flea market is a heaven for shoppers and bargainers which is a popular spot to get excellent handicrafts, artificial ornaments, cassettes and t-shirts. The chapora fort offers a beautiful view of the deep blue sea and the beach. All these attractions in Anjuna make it one of the best beaches in India.

Varkala is one of the wonderful seaside tourist destinations in India located just one hour north of Trivandrum, Kerala.. Varkala offers sandy beach, red cliffs and all season mineral springs adds natural beauty to the beach. The beach offers lots of activities including scuba diving, surfing, parasailing, swimming, and volleyball game. Varkala is famous for hindu center of pilgrimage. Main attractions in Varkala beach in India are 2000 years old sree Janardhana Swamy temple and the nature care centre. Sree Janardhana temple is located close to the papanasam beach, which is considered to have holy waters which wash away sins, and ayurveda treatment centre.

You can see gorgeous greens, captivating corals, coconut canopies, fabulous forests and gentle sea waves.
