Skiing is a fun activity, you enjoy the weather, gliding and the excitement it brings. It is one way to a stress free life as you don’t get bored when you ski. Some people wouldn’t like to try skiing because they think that it is too cold and too risky. The truth is if you just prepare for it and be reminded of the simple tips when you go skiing, I Know you will enjoy it and it will become your favorite hobby, whereas before you you don’t like the cold weather, you will anticipate the winter next time.

Some skiers are first timers and some are already expert, these reminders will help you prepare for the activity plus you will be comfortable in skiing if you follow these simple tips.

Important Tips When You Go Skiing

  1. It is always advisable to dress in layers when you are outside in the snow,
  2. It is also good if you buy your equipment and clothes if you think you are going to use it again and if you just visit and experience snow you might consider renting at the ski resort you are going to.
  3. Call the place where are you going to ski, get information as to the weather and study the map too if you can. Consider that it is waremer in the afternoon and of course colder in the morning.
  4. Try to secure a map to the place where you are going so that you can familiarize with the place and know where not to go
  5. Dress appropriately -- important clothes you need are: ski boots, ski jacket, gloves, goggles, scarves, gloves, thin socks, T shirts, long sleeves, thermal underwear (if you must) should be appropriate. Choose materials which are water proofed, so that you will not be soaked in water.
  6. Buy equipment if you think, you are going to use them again, invest on them like ski and ski poles. Don’t rent out in the place if you can because you might not be comfortable with the equipment there.
  7. It takes time to learn and be patient, once you know and feel the hang of it you can go to the top of the mountain already, because it is dangerous if you fall off
  8. Always protect yourself and get a travel insurance
  9. Before slotting your planks on you should get used to the feel of your boots and then you might want to take a walk with them and test if you are comfortable with them.
  10. You should protect tour skin from the harsh cold and the sun as well, get moisturizers and lotion
  11. Be sure to wear waterproof gloves, ski jackets or wind breaker
  12. If you are on a budget, buy those cheap ones but at the same time you are comfortable wearing them. Canvass first or if you like used things you can also checked out eBay and Amazon sites, they are cheaper too
  13. Get a backpack at least and bring a water or a food to eat
  14. Bring an extra shirt and long sleeves
  15. Your socks should not be too thick, choose thin ones
  16. Check if you have the proper attire and then the basic equipment needed like the ski, ski poles and ski boots.
  17. Be sure you are comfortable with your clothes and not too cold for you, so that you can glide and move with ease.
