Lofoten Islands located in the north of the Arctic Circle (68-69 degrees latitude of the Arctic Circle) and affected by anomalies Artic temperature. Lofoten is well known for its natural beauty and eligible to become one of the places with outstanding natural scenery on the planet. That's why, Lofoten called as "An Arctic Paradise"
Calm and Beautiful
We can find beautiful seas with a group of the largest coral reefs. There are millions of sea gulls with many species such as albatrosses, Cormorant, and Puffin. Another species are beaver and deer. Even the local people give a name to one of the islands known as Vestvågøya and another island is Flakstadøya (which means the foot of a wolf because the island is shaped like a wolf footprints). Now, the whole region is known as the Lofoten islands. Because of its unique climate, Lafoten was the center of the largest cod fishery for more than a thousand years ago. Lofoten is a very important fishing center, before becoming a popular tourist retreat. Thousands of tons of cod are hung to dry on wooden racks, we can see this attraction at the end of the spring.

There’s something unique in Lofoten. This island consists of natural walls with a height of about 1100 meters. Mountains and cliffs on the north side Vestfjord protect the area. Lofoten is also famous for its beauty of sandy beach. We should be careful with Malstrøm which is known as tidal whirlpool in the west of Lofoten. Moskenstraumen is located between Lofotodden and Værøy. Its involves a strong current flowing between these islands and create whirlpools. Moskenstraumen is known as one of the world's strongest maelstroms. Whirlpool will provide you with an unforgettable experience. But generally the beaches at Lafoten are safe.
Lofoten island is the northern part of the world where the average temperature is above zero throughout the year. In January the average temperature is about -1.5. In the summer it has temperature about 13 C for 24 hours throughout the day. The hottest temperature ever recorded was 30.4 C. There are three local airports which each only serves more than 100 people each day.

Kayak is very environmentally friendly transportation and provides amazing opportunity to explore the environment in the sea. There’s a kayak course is approved by NPF (the Norwegian Canoe Association) and BCU (British Canoe Union). Even, The British newspaper (The Guardian's), listed the Lofoten Islands as one of its top ten sea kayaking destinations.
2. Nature Safaris
We can take a part of this adventure from mid-October until mid-January. With large passenger boats and rubber dinghies, the tourist can see the sea eagles, seals and other local wildlife. But if they are lucky, they can catch a glimpse of the killer whales.
3. Go fishing
Lofoten is the best place for fishing lovers. We will not be bored with the beautiful scenery while we are fishing and waiting for the fish to bite. Hundreds of people travel to the Lofoten Islands and try this attraction every winter. Even join the largest arctic cod in the World Championship in cod fishing. Wow..this was great experience surrounded by the atmosphere and the excitement at the fishing area.
4. Hiking and biking
Cycling is a great activity where we can close to nature and enjoy the fresh air. Biking at Lofoten island offers unique experiences. Biking is one of environment friendly activities at Lofoten Islands. Hiking trail promotes wonderful experiences in varied and exciting nature. Hiking is totally challenging.
5. See the Northern Lights

Northern light is an educational and an evocative experience. The fact is Lofoten Island is the best place for us to see the northern lights. 7. Visiting Lofotr Viking Museum
Lofoten is the best place to find out more about the Viking Age as it really was. The largest house at this era has been found by the archaeologists. The Viking Museum was erected at Borg around 500 AD. From trusted information, this house has 83 metres long and has been reconstructed as a museum. At this museum will be show the engine boats, fishing boats, wrought iron cormorants, exhibitions, reconstructions and domestic animals.
8. Enjoy Golf
Golf courses in Lofoten weren’t offer to you the best experience in playing golf. But, it’s the best combination between golf and magnificent scenic surroundings.
