Cheap Eats in Central Oregon
We recently discovered several places in our area of Central Oregon where you can really get a lot of bang for your buck! There are others as well but these are at the moment my favorite 5 picks for the Bend, Redmond and Prineville area. Look for more updates as I endeavor to ferret out more places to dine for a good price!
One of the reasons I love these menus and these places is that they are classified as fine dining establishments. However, just because they are classified as fine dining, you do not have to pay top price if you check out the available bargain menus.
I like this kind of dining because first of all, it doesn't make you feel quite so guilty going out to eat. Secondly, we are of the mind that eating earlier in the day is better for us anyway so that really helps us out. Lastly, I have had great success at most of these restaurants sitting outside weather permitting and having a delightful meal with my 2 infamous malamutes lying beneath the table! It doesn't get much better than that.

Summing It Up
If you are from the Central Oregon area or visit, do check out the 5 places I've highlighted for you - I find their menus refreshing in a down-turned economy and wish more restaurants would follow suit. Every week it seems we pass another restaurant that has gone out of business or hear of one. The key to staying in business I think is making something of something rather than nothing of nothing and for the prices that these restaurants are offering people a good deal, I think/I hope they will be around for a while!
Even if you don't live in Central Oregon, check out your own area for bargain menus. It is worth the experiment to see if there are places and I would wager there are.
Lastly, if you put Central Oregon into your travel plans, don't forget to check out the Painted Hills and Sheep Rock in beautiful Central Oregon. They are great places to visit.
