Starting over: friends, work, family, finding a place to live, paperwork (switching driver's license, forwarding mail, insurance, license plates, etc.).
Relocating means giving up your existing support system (friends, family, family doctor or dentist who knows you, pharmacy who knows your medications, neighbours)
Being all alone in a strange town where you know nobody at all and feel like a perfect target for strangers.
New neighbors looking at you with stilted eyes.
Big money deposits on utilities and apt.
For me the hardest part of relocating is the transition period. It not about the money or material things but it is about the culture.
