Say the name of your city and what distinguishes it from the thousands that exist around the world?

I live in my home town: Funchal (Madeira island, Portugal).
It is characterized by being a seaside town, which rises from the sea to the mountains, creating a natural amphitheater. It has more than 500 years and combines history with its natural culture with the cosmopolitanism of a city of the century, with social values agreed with his time.
For all this and more, is a tourist town for over 200 years.

Sorry. I don't know how I can change or erase an answer. This on is not 100% correct.

What I want to ask is:

"Can you say the name of your city and what distinguishes it from the thousands that exist around the world?"

Toledo, Ohio. We are famous for making high quality glass products. We also are famous for having a major that wanted to move all the deaf people near the airport. (Not kidding, Karty Finkbeiner actually suggested this) Katie Holmes is from Toledo.

Seattle. It's beautiful and it's one of the capitals of creativity in the world.  It's a fabulous place to raise a family but you have to get away and get out of the rain from time to time.  I think it's just as nice or nicer than Vancouver BC.
