I camped in Galicia before and would definitely recommend it. I dont know if you can camp for free. We stayed at a campsite and it worked out fairly cheap .We started at santiago de compestella and worked our way down to the portugese border. I recommend checking out the Cíes Islands off Vigo.

I stayed in Barcelona for a week. It was amazing! I highly recommend it. Barcelona is a very big, spread out city. It's best to decide what you want to get from the trip and then research the different areas of the city to find out where you should stay. I stayed in the Las Ramblas district.

Here is a great website to help you out, http://www.barcelona.com/barcelona_city_guide

I lived in Andalucia for 3 weeks in a beautiful little village called Arroyo de la Miel, nearby but far enough away was the tourist areas of Torremoulinos, Fuengirola & Benalmadena, Malaga that serves as the local airport is only 30 minutes away by train.

I also did 2 stints of 4 years on Ibiza within the Belearic Islands, the first 4 years living just outside San Antonio & the second time living quietly on the other side of the island in a quaint little town called Santa Eulalia.

I also did 2 seasons in both Tenerife & Gran Canaria within the Canary Islands but I wasn't a fan, far too tatty & a far too far advanced touist trap for mainly British, German & Scandinavian tourists & is awash with timeshare touts - not my idea of fun.
