Have you ever volunteered while traveling overseas ?
There is a site where you can volunteer at peoples places for free accommodation around the world which looks interesting . Have you done this yourself ?
Yes, once while in Ireland, I volunteered to help with the potato harvest to have a sore back for several days afterwards.
Not exactly volunteering.
Right after the big earthquake in Chengdu (2008) I bought up all of the water we could find, it was about 15 cases.
The next few days at the place where a large number of people gathered we handed out water to the elderly and the very young.
We also bought food and handed out soup and bread along with fruit.
But that is just the Chinese way of doing things so I really wouldn't call it volunteering.
Yes, I worked with a Christian Mission to help paint a schoolhouse in Haiti. Very rewarding experience.
Kind of. About 20 years ago my cousin and I went to work on a Kibbutz in Israel. We weren't paid anything but received board and lodging. It was really tough work, but great fun and wonderful people were met along the way.
Yes, i volunteered at the missionaries of charity of Mother Theresa in Marseille,France serving food in their soup kitchen.I also taught English for the inner city kids in the ghettoes of Marseille.
I think when you take your intern abroad it has some free packages. Try to see this if this will help. http://www.studyabroad.com/programs/int … fault.aspx
I haven't, but this looks really interesting! Please tell me where this site is, so I can check it out!
