What do you mean by what about? Is it History, Geography, Tourism or anything more specific. Most people do want to know about Goa as a tourism destination. Goa is considered to be one of the most popular and frequented beach destinations in world. It shot to fame with Hippies flocking to this tiny emerald in early 1980s. Although rave parties and Hippies have diminished in number, today Goa is renown for its cosmopolitan populace, vibrant nightlife and siesta a languid stupor or the sussegado.
Goa was once a Portuguese Colony which gives this city its unmistakable colonial charm. This place was once compared to Portugal itself and it was said that you need not go to Portugal if you have visited Goa. But the glory faded as Goa was struck with several calamities. Even nowadays the fading glory of this once promising Portuguese colony is visible in the relics sprinkled across South Goa which have now been designated as UNESCO World Heritage Site.
