    Why build a time machine?

Just for fun, if you could turn back or fast forward the clock to any time whenever you wished, what would you do? No holds bared on this one.

For me personally it would be to undo anything I have done that has resulted in a bad outcome and then redo it in hopes of a better result

I once thought that too, but I am loving my life now and the things that happened before led me here. Nice answer though,Thank You.

If I could build a time machine, I would only want it to go into the past, so I could witness some personal and historical events--like the fly on the wall--not interfering or doing anything to cause a change. I would not want to visit the future, because knowing what is supposed to happen could cause me to do things that might cause a relatively unimportant future event to become a complex and serious threat to future generations.

Nice answer, but wouldn't you be just a little curious about the future? I would have to at least take a peak. Thank you.

I would go into the far future to see if humans really do mess-up the planet.  Find out if we can all actually come together as a people to solve the worlds problems.  And to see if the human race survives or not.  Based on what I would find, I would either come back and work hard to make things better; or, build a space-ship and move to another planet.  After all, if I could build a time machine, a space-ship should not pose any technical challenges whatsoever.

I would go back, so I could spend more time with my dad before he passed away. I was only 12 when he died, and there are so many things I wish I could have said and done.

I would love to travel into the future.  I would love to witness what would be happening in the world in the year 3000.  I want to know if there would be more advanced technologies and if there would be humanoids, androids or half human-half robot or if aliens would already be living in this planet.  I would also like to know if NASA would already find other human, plant or animal life on other planets, galaxies or universes.

Why stop there? Go to the year 10,000! Cool answer, thank you.

If i had a time machine...i would go back in time and to the future. i would pretend to be someone i know from the present but not know really well. you never know, maybe i prevented my mom from getting hurt during a car crash she was in before i was born or saved my future son in a war?  ultimate time traveler man ;D
