    Well an airboat is a type of boat that's engine is air-driven like a big fan. It does not fly. A flying boat could be a hydrofoil which actually enables it to "fly" just above the water surface...
    A float plane is an airplane with pontoons instead of tires so that it can land and take off in water. The picture associated with this answer is a "float plane"...
