What are the most important things you consider when choosing a hotel?

Sleep quality, breakfast, comforts, luxury, position of the hotel, price, gym... many factors may be taken in exam when booking a hotel.
What are the most important ones for you?

no bedbugs, roaches, mice, empty  bottles underneath the bed and a rug that doesn't turn your bare feet black.

General cleanliness and quality of the hotel.  I'm always drawn to places that look modern and like a lot of care has been put into making it nice.  I also judge on the outside a little bit, too - if it looks run down or like it's in a not-so-nice area then I'm deterred.  I don't care much about breakfast or amenities.  All I really want is a nice room with a private bathroom.  Price can't be astronomical but I don't mind spending a bit more on a classier place.

    In descending order of importance:

    1) Location
    2) Price
    3) Ambience/decor
