With BP screwing up the Gulf of Mexico are you less likely to travel to the Gulf Coast this summer?
Many fishing tournaments have already been cancelled. Beaches are closed. I don't see why anyone would spend their hard earned money to go to the gulf coast with the circumstances they way they are now. I feel for the people, and for the animals and the environment, but I wouldn't sacrifice my vacation to help them. I'll have to find some other way.
My husband and I have a time share in Galveston. We had a previously scheduled mini vacation booked. To be perfectly honest, I have never felt comfortable venturing into the surf in the gulf. We were there the week after Mother's Day and it was fine. I joked with my husband that we could stop on the way and get tooth brushes to teach our daughter how to clean oil off of birds.

I like Miami but haven't been to too many other beaches. The area has to have a great club scene also. What are your suggestions?

For US and Canada, EAST - do you prefer the East Coast beaches or Gulf Coast Beaches?I've noticed the crowds I see on the East Coast beaches - even down to Florida - tend to be a bit more on the "biker" side of sun worship, on the Gulf Coast - more likely not. What do you see? Is it like...
