Can you suggest a travel itinerary for Laos?

   Hi!  My travel and buddy and I are planning to spend two weeks in Laos and would like to get your suggestions on what we can do within this time period.  Thanks.

   So much depends on what your interests, what your budget is, and how you are planning to get to/from Laos.
   
   Regardless of the details of any of those my major suggestion is: Go slow! Laos is a place where nothing happens fast, and trying to put together an itinerary like you might for Europe (two days in seven different cities) doesn't work.
   
   I think Luang Prabang is a must visit. It is a beautiful little city.
   
   Also, there's a one-street village north of Luang Prabang called Muang Noi. It is very basic (there's only two hours of electricity in the evening) but because there are no roads that go there (boat is the only transport in or out) it is incredibly peaceful. I loved it but it isn't everyone's thing.

   I think a ten day tour will be enough for you to experience all Laos highlights, from the North to the South. Here is an itinerary I want to suggest you.
   
   Day 01: Arrival - Luang Prabang
   Day 02: Luang Prabang - Pakou Cave - Luang Prabang
   Day 03: Luang Prabang – Khouangsi Waterfalls
   Day 04: Luang Prabang – Xiengkhouang (Road)
   Day 05: Xiengkhouang – Vientiane (Flight)
   Day 06: Vientiane - City Tour
   Day 07: Vientiane – Pakse – Don Khone Island (Flight)
   Day 08: Don Khone Island – Surrounding (Boat)
   Day 09: Don Khone Island - Tadlo – Pakse
   Day 10: Pakse – Departure
