A humorous British hubber expands on his varied and insightful hubs
1. Many of your hubs address issues in the gay community. Why did you feel compelled to write about these topics?
I am openly gay and throughout the years myself and many other like me in my county of Britain have undergone a lot of bullying because of ignorance to homosexuality, so by writing about it, people can relate to it and understand homosexuality a lot better.
2. How did your mother feel about you coming out? How has she kept you grounded throughout the years?
My mum was the best friend ever; the day I told her I was gay was so funny as she opened her arms and gave me the biggest cuddle and said "I could have told you son, but your still the boy I carried for 9 months and I love you very much."
My mum and I have a great relationship, there is nothing we could not tell each other as honesty is the best policy, my mum supports me 100% and is enthusiastic to my work on hubpages.
3. Some of your hubs address the political and social issues that Nazism affected. Why did you research this movement and its impact on society?
I did this because when people think of the holocaust they only think of the Jewish victims and yes it was very bad for them too, but not many people are aware of the other victims, so this is why I brought it to light, to show what can happen if you allow lunacy to rule.
4. Besides writing insightful hubs, it seems that you also enjoy writing short stories. Do you have more that you plan to release on hub pages?
Yes, I have an awful lot of short stories and hope to bring more to light very soon.
5. I never hated ironing until you wrote about it in the hubs. What other domestic chores can you write about so that we can hate them more?
There are absolute loads of them such as polishing, washing dishes by hand, making your husband's lunch box for work (and getting no thanks for it)... There will be more- keep watching.
6. In America, we celebrate the fact that we won our independence from the British. I have mixed feelings however. I think I would have liked to been a British subject. Instead of celebrating George Washington's birthday, we could be celebrating Benny Hills birthday. Your thoughts?
It's a strange thing, as my brother wants to move to America because he loves the culture. I am always open to learning about other cultures and would love to travel, but you would love the Queen's birthday parade.
7. What is the music scene like in England now? Do gay clubs still play the best dance music?
The music scene is constantly changing; everybody has different tastes it's really hard to single out one specific one.
As for the best music, gay clubs do play the best music, I think, as it's always my favourite songs that they play, but I suppose it depends where you are for good music, as straight clubs can be just as good.
8. Besides writing witty and informative hubs, what would you wish to convey thru your writing?
I like to be honest and open and it shows that I am approachable and will answer your questions on homosexuality and any other issue- and I'm friendly too, so people do not need to worry; I am not gonna bite :)
9. How would you wish to be remembered?
Making people laugh and smile with my sense of humour and funny articles as well as teaching them something new.
