Should there be laws against selling puppies out of the back of a truck on the roadside?
This is a problem where I live. Many of the vendors own puppy mills. I wrote a Hub about it here: http://doodlebugs.hubpages.com/hub/Road … e-Outlawed Do you feel this is a problem in your area? Should there be statewide laws against the practice? Feel free to add your comments to my hub.
Yes ....
It just shows lack of respect for the puppies, One doesn't care enough about them to research their future for ever home!!!!!!!
Yes, of course! it shows.... as Jorja Kick says, it shows no respect, they should (the truck driver selling them puppies) at least set up a home for them
Why does everyone want laws for everything. Why not just boycott them? If they don't sell any along the road they won't sit there. Why are you blaming them and not the dumb a$$es who buy their dogs along side the road.
You can use the excuse of saving the dogs from a cruel life, but in fact you are ensuring that life for future dogs.
If you need to make a law, why not make it illegal to BUY a dog from some roadside stand. That is where the problem begins, buying them. Quit that and the selling will stop.
Absolutely! Animals are NOT commodities...they are living, feeling, sentient beings. People are way off base by doing this..is is outrageous and unethical not to mention sickening. There SHOULD be statewide laws and, in the enlightened future...there WILL be laws against this barbaric and ignorant practice. Thank you for bringing this to the attention of HP readers!
While I have seen signs at the edge of yards, I have not witnessed vendoring by puppy mills. I hate puppy mills. At the least, selling like that should be just cause for investigation, but those poor babies should not be ignored for the cause of roadside vendoring, they need to be rescued!
The puppies are not the only ones who suffer. It is one thing to breed a dog to preserve it's bloodline and a whole other thing to subject them to constant breeding and birthing.
Roadside vendoring should be considered a violation, but more needs to be done.
There should be strict guidelines as to what constitutes legitimate breeding services and agreeable breeding of the family dog.
I love puppies. If I ever witness such a rotten thing as roadside vendoring of puppy mills, I may be that "crazy lady" yelling at the vendors.
Yes. There are many states that are considering instituting a tracking sessions for all animals sold. I am not sure what the right answer is, but millions of pets that we breed for our companionship are killed on a yearly basis. How can we keep falling that short?!
Definately there should be a law protecting these poor pups.
I believe some States have such a law and you need a license from the Department of Agriculture to be allowed to sell animals!
I personally think that anybody selling animals should have to be required to have a license, be subjected to quaterly inspections and be required to pay taxes! ESPECIALLY THE CRAIGSLIST PUPPY BROKERS! (And I am not blaming craigslist for the shady people that sell on there!)
This is from an article I wrote about Animal Rescue. And no, I am not supportive of breeders, but if somebody can't stop themselves from buying, I prefer they buy from a responsible breeder.
At the bottom there is a part about the 3 different kinds of breeders ('Accidental'-, 'Irresponsible'-, 'Responsible'-).

Do you believe modifying the Second Amendment is going to prevent mass acts of violence? This questions is for all of those situational or sunny day anti-gun advocates. Pro-gun advocates spend a lot of time and effort, not mention millions of dollars protecting the Second Amendment. If...
