   Does God listen to our prayers when our pets are sick or injured?
   
   I have always wondered if God takes the time to listen to our prayers for a pet.  I like to think He  does.

      Mary, I did not know your little Baby is blind. I will pray for you and your little one. They do adjust much faster than we do to such life changes. I think if you keep track of your feelings & write a hub about it all, it will greatly help.

   It would seem to me that a good prayer is much like a good conversation. Most of the time the subject matter is not all that important. It is the sharing and being with each other that is the real good stuff. I would think it is not so much about the pet as it is about what matters to you. I am just a normal old guy and I would care about your pet -- how much more so would God? If it is in your heart God wants to hear about it and help you.

      Oh, Eric, you are so right.  Being able to pray has saved me many hours with a shrink.  I just talk it over with God, and I feel better.

   Absolutely, God responds to and honors any prayer prayed in faith.  He created pets for our enjoyment, and so he cares about what we care about.  That is a great question.

   Oh, yes, Mary, God hears all our prayers without a doubt.  I never question God, for He is a Holy God and we may never understand why bad things happen to good people or pets every day.  I just place my trust and faith in Him for he is a just God, not matter the outcome.  He is a loving God and cares for your broken heart concerning your Baby.  He cares about all the big things going in our lives and even the smallest detail of our lives.  There is nothing that we can't bring before Him.  He desires that close and intimate relationship with Him and we do that through our prayers and reading His word.  Then we come to know Him.  I always end my prayers in Jesus' name for He is the way to the Father as He tells us in His word.  That is what I truly believe.  I am keeping you and Baby in my thoughts and prayers, precious heart.

      You are so sweet to think and pray for my little dog, Baby.  She is coping with her blindness much better than I am.  I ask God to please give me the strength and wisdom to know what to do for her.  I end my prayers "Thy will be done".

   Just last week I spent some time refining my thinking on this topic because our sweet neighbors lost their beloved dog and were asking about related issues.  The bottom line of it all is that God is much bigger than we can imagine. Because of what He says to us in His Word it would be difficult to believe that He does not care for all that He has created. 
   
   That He does not explain everything to us now is not ours to argue.  He is, after all, God.  He is not bound by time, He is unlimited.  He gives us enough knowledge about Himself and His plan for mankind (in the book of Ephesians, for instance) to guide us if we will trust Him with humble hearts. 
   
   It may be that in eternity He will choose to reveal more of His plan for all of His creation. What He says to those who trust Him leads me to believe that what will unfold in eternity is beyond our comprehension now. 
   
   He gives us glimpses into His grand work via His grand design as well as His Word, and it is a great comfort to think of His compassion for all that His creation faces in this fallen world, even though I do not always understand the why behind situations.
   
   The way He is working out everything often leaves us with questions, but He even has compassion for us about what we do not understand.  I don't mean to be long, but the whole counsel of His Word is a huge tapestry that includes truths on how His heart beats with mercy for this world in the face of a destroying enemy. 
   
   Does God care about prayers for animals?  He makes it plain that He does, and that it delights Him when we care for them.  What better way to care for an animal in need than to pray as we do what we can for them in our limited capacity. 
   
   Denying what He does tell us by worshipping the creation above the Creator is a warning we do well to heed. His care for His creation and His command for us to be good stewards of the earth (and all that is in it) goes hand in hand with the warning.
   
   The more we study things out the more careful we need to be about definitions (which would make for a much longer reply here) but if we seek His help to know how He defines what He says to us then we are in a safe path that will lead us to more and more understanding.   
   
   In the face of all that creation speaks to us about its Designer your question is so reasonable, and it was a blessing to think it all through again so I could share it here--thanks!

      We may not with what God is telling us today, but it seems to me that later on, His answer will be revealed.  By loving and taking care of my newly blinded dog has taught me more patience and caring.  Thanks so much.

      I'm sorry your little dog has become blind, but I am glad you are able to give her care she needs.  We learn and grow in unexpected ways when the unexpected hits!  Keeping a journal could help you share in hubs, even including original poems.

    I believe he does hear our prayers and takes care of our pets. Think of how many times you have heard the word dog in the bible. I also, can think of ST.Frances and how Jesus told of his love for the animals.

    In Genesis 1, God not only created animals, but also blessed them and wanted them to multiply, showcasing his love for them. And he also said that they good.
