   Internet Marketing is about using some marketing techniques to promote and sell products and services online.    Internet marketing basically entails everything that exists in the traditional marketing world, and then some that is specific to online marketing. The topics range from creating compelling copy, optimizing your sites for the search engines, researching your market, testing your sites and products, and promotion. In short, it's finding your target market, figuring out what their problems are, creating a solution to those problems, finding a way to get it to them, and then finding a way to tell them that this is what will solve their problem.
   
   I have started a series of hubs specifically tailored to writing and marketing on Hubpages. The first one just went up today and I'm starting at a really, really basic level, but as time goes on I will be getting more and more in-depth if you'd like to learn more of the specifics. I will also gladly answer specific questions with a hub .

   There are so many forms of internet marketing. It of course is marketing on the internet, but there are so many different forms of internet marketing. There is article marketing, blogging, pay per click advertising, natural search engine optimization, directory submissions, and even email marketing.

Digital customer data and electronic customer relationship management (ECRM) systems are also often grouped together under internet marketing.

Internet marketing also refers to the placement of media along many different stages of the customer engagement cycle through search engine marketing (SEM), search engine optimization (SEO), banner ads on specific websites, email marketing, and Web 2.0 strategies."

   Internet marketing has come to mean many different things.  Lets explore a few:
   
   Internet marketing as a method: the process of communicating the features and benefits of a product or service on the Internet.  This would be analogous to the term television marketing.  In the television medium, there are numerous tools such as the 30-second commercial spot, the 60-second commercial spot, in-show product placement, informercial, show sponsorship, and others.  These are tools by which television marketing is implemented. Like television marketing, internet marketing has it's own tools.  These include, pay-per-click, banner ads, links, articles, and others. Internet marketing as a method can be thought of as a means to an end.
   
   Internet marketing as a business model: a commercial enterprise focused on producing profits as a result of investing capital in the development of internet based product platforms.  The internet marketing business model is comprised of all of the facets associated with any other business enterprise including human resources (hiring and managing employees or contractors), finance (identifying sources of capital for operations), accounting (balancing income and expenses), production (content development), etc.  Building upon the television example before, the analogy for internet marketing as a business would be owning the television station.  Internet marketing as a business model can be thought of as both the means and the end.

   Developing a website, either static or WordPress, and adding content tha the consumer will find online.  The goal is to have consumers interact based on the value proposition you serve on the site.  If the consumer can find you online, and find value in your offering, they make register or contact you directly.
   
   The new trend in Internet marketing is inbound or pull marketing where you offer information without commitment, especially when offering a service.
