Absolutely! I've volunteered for several organizations in the metro-Atlanta area and I KNOW the impact is significant. For example, I have planted trees for one group, and it is a joy to see residents step outside their homes when we are planting and say, "Thanks...looks good." Sometimes we even get more volunteers when we do our plantings. It doesn't take a lot of time out of the day, and the reward is NOT, getting a thank you, but it is being able to say, "Hey, I live here, and I care about the community in which I live."
