Any hub of yours figuring in google 1st page? If yes, which one is it?
I wrote a 3 part series on Ethiopian Christianity which are on google's first page. It was a subject I was very interested in, and i tied it into history and the Bible. Two things i think really helped the hubs do well 1) This is a niche topic. Not many people are writing about it, though there is a small but steady stream of people doing google seaches on it. 2) i got lucky with some excellent photos by a person who had just traveled to Ethiopia and taken pictures of the sights and events I mentioned in the hubs, and posted them in the Creative Commons on Flickr.
Just within the last 24 hours, my article about the exile of Charlie Chaplin has ranked at the very top. I don't know if my ranking will hold - I hope so but I don't anticipate it.
The Charlie Chaplin Museum is slated to open 2013. I am praying that Josh Groban does a tribute presentation of Chaplin's song Smile and it would be a dream come to true to visit the museum someday.
Anyhow, it is fun to see the interest this little hub is generating. It allowed me to break 150,000 views overall so my readership is growing.
Great question, I look forward to seeing the answers.
I think most of your hubs will come in the first page if you search with exact name of the hub. But it is possible only if the name of the hub is something which is not used by many people in internet
I have more than 20 hubs that are ranked on Google's 1st page (for certain keywords obviously).
However, my Hamlet's Soliloquies Hub Series, and another hub about the 'Personality Determinants' are on Google's 1st page for almost all the related keywords (LSI keywords).
P.S: The personality determinant is ranked 1st on the Google's 1st page.
Yes, it all depends on what search terms you use. If you search for: churchill trenches, my hub http://unnamedharald.hubpages.com/hub/W … e-Trenches is third on the first page. If you search for: sitzkrieg, my hub http://unnamedharald.hubpages.com/hub/Sitzkrieg is sixth on the first page.
I've had several on the first page that I know about--I haven't checked very many. Of course if you go with the exact title of a longer titled piece it will be easier to get there. However, I think having an unusual idea or a better page to answer a question lots of people have will help you get there. I actually came to hubpages because two of my blogs ended up as first page on google with no intention on my part that it would happen. One is "Covering Popcorn ceilings with plaster" which I think is an idea many people had considered, but when I first posted it, I couldn't find it anywhere on the internet. The other is about Elementary Science Fair projects, which is something I really just posted to help people at my own kid's school, but it got thousands of hits on my blog--and still gets about 150 hits a day there, even though I've moved most of the information entirely over to Hubpages. So sometimes you just get lucky and find out you filled a need.
I have multiple hubs listed on the first page of Google. But the one I enjoy the most was the last Valentine's my mother had with me, before she passed away that summer from Cancer. It is called " A Love Letter To My Mother." I still cannot go back and read it because memories flood my mind. She was so happy I wrote it for her. She cried tears of joy and was by my side when I made it live on-line that day. Over 54,000 views and counting.

An issue with one of my hubs has been going on for a while. I wrote a hub a while ago that reached the top of page two in Google for certain keywords. After a few days in this position, it disappeared from Google search altogether, and in its place popped up someone elses hub using the exact same...

I have been on hubpages for two months. I have read multiple articles on SEO and backlinking. Ninety percent of my hubs do not have backlinking. But I choose for a while to say no backlinking. It was "different" I thought and "original". ...

One thing that I've noticed in my traffic stats is that one particular hub about a particular acoustic guitar - seems to be doing better than other hubs about what I would think would be guitars that are more sought after. So I looked at the hub that is doing so well, and tried to figure out why...
