Why don't male Hub Page writers post more comments on hubs written by women?

   Why don't male Hub Page writers post more comments on hubs written by women?
   
   Why don't men writers post more comments, generally?  There seem to be more comments by women writers?  Why is this? Are men writers less social on the network? Are they more inhibited then women? Do women feel freer to chat than men?  If so, why?

   GoodLady, I can assure you there are a good many men on HubPages who comment often and with great pleasure on the ladies hubs. Not sure where your getting this perspective from. But, perhaps your seeing something I'm not so will pay it closer attention.

   I think I read somewhere they are more women Hubbers than men Hubbers.  That would explain why more women comment, wouldn't it?  I have some dear male followers who leave meaningful wonderful comments on my Hubs.

   A great deal of writers that I follow (and leave comments for) are women, but I will admit that I'm not as active on HubPages as a lot of other writers. I do think that women have a higher inclination to participate in online social forums (like facebook, pintrest and HubPages). Why they have that inclination, I have no idea, but I do see more posts in general from women than men when it comes to social networks.

   As far as commenting on women's hubs, I would think it depends more on the subject matter than the gender of the author. As to men in general leaving fewer comments, some of the men seem quite chatty. I haven't done a scientific survey or anything, but the political topics seem to attract profuse and heated male commentary.

   I have usually written(or started writing)  my comments before i even look at or notice the writer's Avatar or identify their gender.Therefore i certainly don't think there is anything intentional in it.
   
   As to whether i've incidentally commented on more male hubbers hubs,i've absolutely no idea but i doubt it.In general terms women are often far more talkative and social than men are, i'm sure i read somewhere that the average woman utters 10,000 words a day wheras the average man is responsible for a mere 2-3000 (my figures may not be exactly correct here but there was certainly a big disparity) so that may account for it.
   
   Either way i seriously doubt that many people conciously comment more on the hubs of one gender or the other although there may well be a differnce.If so i'd say it's due to other factors relating to content or interests etc.

   I would put it down to the content. I'm not sure though, as this isn't something I'd considered previously. It's likely differing interests etc. It would be interesting to have stats on which gender posts most comments and so on though.

   I post comments and I don't post comments. I post more comments on Sunday than any day of the week. I am off and just relaxing at hubpages. I get home from work after midnight and work 6-days a week. I usually only read the hubs that appear at my home page thingy. Many times the comment section is so large I don't even skim down to the bottom. Not trying to be facetious, but other than to say hello to someone, more than likely it has been said. But I vote and leave a hub accolade always. And, then again maybe my avatar can fool some of my gender being male too.

    Well let's see we have a woman writer, 3 comments from women, and 6 comments from men. But seriously, I read Hubs by both men and women, and I comment on the ones that I like regardless of gender.

    I can only speak for myself. It doesn't matter whether the hubber is male or female. I comment if I have something to add.
    
    I just joined recently, so I'm still learning about the community. But, it seems like a great group of men and women. There may just be more women.

    I haven't noticed that.  I get comments from male Hubbers, and I see "tons" of comments on guys' Hubs from both men and women.  I think it's more a matter of whether the subject is a "unisex" kind of subject or not.  Of course, any time anyone raises the issue of women doing more than one thing or another on HubPages, someone else will always raise the issue that a lot of men pretend to be women on here.   lol  So, there's that too.

    Men and women often are interested in different topics.  I am willing to bet that many video games hubs would reveal a majority of males posting comments.

    We have to be EXTREMELY careful about what we might reply to a woman's hub.... After all, there's NO SUCH FURY AS A WOMAN SCORNED!!!!
    
    P.S.  I felt OK responding to your Hub... but that's because you make it sound like it's "safe" to be a bit honest in replying....
