   When writing articles for HP's is it better to write more or less explaining a difficult subject?
   
   Is it a better tactic when writing articles to explain topics in detail and risk insulting the intelligence of your reader or explain less in hopes that your readers actually have a brain and no how to use it?

   Good question - we do not really know our readership here as we would if we were publishing to a print publication. I think it helps to have expertise in the topic on which you are writing so you have your finger on the pulse, so to speak of what people generally know on a topic. I can tell you one thing, I regret having gotten too detailed and thorough in my hubs because now HubPages is citing me with numerous violations of repetitive links (you are only allowed 2 per website, even if the links are to different pages) when I was only trying to properly reference my sources. I think I will now change my style of writing somewhat to avoid this happening in the future.

   Considering how this site seems to play out, I'd write less on the actual articles and let the comment field invoke further elaboration.  Side note:  Be nice now, or they will report ya to the cyber police...  Ha-ha!

   Edit, edit and then edit some more. Your readers are following your thought processes. If your writing wanders off the immediate subject, so will theirs. If you use 100 words to say something that can better be said in 50, it won't have as much of an impact.

   It is better to get to the point when trying to explain general subjects, but if you´re trying to explain your own point of view, then is better to extend the arguments that can enlighten your readers and lead to a better understanding of the subject presented.
