My Hubscore was 85 yesterday and it is 75 today. What happened?

I spent last evening Hub Hopping - I don't think I made anybody mad. Why did my Hubscore go down over night?

Mine has done that too, not really sure why. I was up in the 90's then all of a sudden I dropped down to 60 within an hour. It's gone up a little though since I wrote some more hubs but other than that I have no clue.

Thank you for answering - I'm glad I'm not alone but I hope it improves for both of us soon! Maybe someone can tell us "why" this happened.

Yeah, I'm not too worried about it. I care more about my traffic which has also strangely dropped. This will be the second week that it's been bad. Was up to nearly 500 views a day before now I'm barely making 100.

Mine did the same - I was averaging 400 visitors a day and this week my average has been around 100 per day. I hope it picks up soon. I am going to write some more this week - see if it picks up again.

If you read the FAQ entry on how HubScores are calculated, you'll see they are based on fluctuating factors so they will always have an ebb and flow element to them.

The main thing that will cause a sudden and pronounced drop in score is if you start to follow a lot of people in a short amount of time.  That facet was built into the system to deter people who were mass-following other users to try and get followers themselves.  It can be reversed by unfollowing those you added:  your score will slowly come back up over the few days after you unfollow them.

Other than that, having Hubs unpublished for quality or content violations can also drop your score.

Hub hopping is anonymous and does not hurt your score.  In fact, being participatory on the site helps.

Thank you relache - very informative. I did follow several of my followers yesterday. That may be it!
