I was shocked this morning that despite posting a new hub last night my hub profile score had dropped from 96 down to 88. I posted in Hubber's Hangout and it turns out that I am not alone because other hubbers have their scores going down and some are reporting by a figure of at least 8 same as mine.
I now find that my score is 87 on my profile and 88 in the forums.
I have been 96 at the lowest and 100 maximum for the past few months so what is going on here?
Yesterday a hub of mine was on 4th number overall in Hottest Hubs with a 97 hub score... after 14 or so hours its 90...
Same is with other hubs. Is someone voting down the hubs? I saw anti-hubchallenge threads.... Looks like hubchallenge is getteng into a dangerous zone.
I wonder how ... I wonder why ... I wonder where they are ... The scores I had yesterday!!!
Mine too its gone from 92 to 80 in under 24 hrs.Whats going on!!!
Bard of Ely, hubscores seem to ebb and flow. I notice that when my score goes down, the scores of other hubbers I associate with seem to go down, too. I'm not sure exactly how this works.
I am not even in any hub challenges so I really object if I am being attacked by nameless attacker rivals over a contest I am not in!
Considering all the profiles that are down, someone(s) would have had to be very busy to cause this kind of havok.
And it bothers me more than you all as I am new and it was the first time my hubs were becoming featured .... BUT ....
I was of the impression that we dont have to worry much about hubscores. How come hubbers seem to be in a state of worry over this?
Mine's been fluctuating between 93 and 96, and i STILL dont know how i got to the 90's. Or what the criteria for scoring is. Since we've been told not to worry.
I am now informed that this has happened because of the hub challenge and that hubbers in it are outperforming those of us who are not in it and that is why our scores are down! Well, I don't have time for contests and challenges so looks like I will have to get used to having a lower score here! A great shame though!
I'm not sure who informed you of that, but that's just silly. What really happened is that we rolled out a new release last night, and there was a small bug that affected some scores. Everything should be back to normal now.
Guess I have to get used to my new score then, right Paul?
The bug is fixed, but the scores will take some time to adjust. They don't move more than 1 point an hour.
Ahh, this must have crossed my post above so I have only just seen it Paul. Well thanks for the reassurance, I shall just keep my fingers crossed that my score returns to the 90's soon
Thank you for this response. I'm new here, and was quite happy to see my profile score at 84 last night, so you can imagine my surprise when I woke up to find it at 77.
I know I'm not a great writer, but it was a bit of a shock.
24 hours later and my hubscore still going down... it is at 32 now!!
I still love ya Wendy!
LOL I am watching mine with interest, expecting it to follow the suit
Interesting to see how low will it go. (thanks for the love xxx)
You are not alone. I know of few Hubber who always had a score more 90 and had been on the score of 100 a number of times like countrywomen, Amanda Severn, cashmere, Christoph Reilly
Mine is way down too Steve. I can't participate in this challenge either--I've got too much other writing to do. My ad revenue is way down too. It's too bad. I really like Hub Pages but I can't devote most of my day to it.
Yes Bard of Ely is right. It is a great shame for us including me who is not participating in hub challenge because of lack of time.
Was this an official notification? Or just from one of us guys.
It was just from one of us guys. And that is not quite how I suggested it. I suggested that the hubbers who took part in the hubchallenge may be "outperforming" those who did not. And as the hubberscore is graded on a curve (not sure exactly how) this will drop others down.
Not really certain though.
Well I guess I will just write my butt off and see what happens. I had my best Amazon sales day yesterday and was thrilled until I came to Hubpages.
I've never been a B-plus student in all of my life. Usually am at the very top of every curve.
I'm rather like that, too, Nelle. But I can't quite figure the Hubpage criteria out. ...Maybe its all those low traffic poems, lol. But they always did well in creative writing classes!
I dunno--I submitted some things to Reddit, and was generating all this traffic. Some of the traffic remained, but my score went down.
I'm still at 88 and moping. Going out for a 5-mile up hill power walk to change my brain chemistry and get a new attitude.
Just checked mine out today and it has dropped down to 86, which is the lowest I have ever known it. Weird if you consider I am getting over 800 viewings a day between all of my hubs right now, plus I am currently publishing about one article a week,
OK...I came home from work and was a little shocked to see my hubscore is now at 86. It hasn't been there since I began hubpages... I was at 100 just a couple days ago. 93-94 this morning.
Is this 'adjustment' still going on? If you submit hubs to reddit, can it affect something? I've generated 1005 views today.
This is weird.
*oops...edit..no, not 1005 views, mistaken on that. But still?
maybe the reddit thing screwed hub page up....
No. But maybe they screwed me up? I really have no idea. Does anybody? I see Nelle is still low, too, though others are back up. But wow--from 100 to 86 in 3 days...
Seriously. Earlier today they said that they fixed it and the scores would start to go back up to where they were but mine has been going down.
I dont think it was Reddit since my page veiws have been getting less n less the last 5 days...
Besides they just show as other traffic like mail or facebook.
Do page veiws accumalate ,because seriously Im going no where fast!...and what of clicks and still no cents? wahhhh
I don't get it. I saw that admin. was fixing the hubscore thingy and they said that the scores would start going back up 1 point every hour but my has been dropping 1 point every hour since.
I am 10 points less than yesterday, I was 97 yesterday and today I am at 87, a record low for at hubpages in the past one year.
Paul Deeds posted yesterday that there was a problem with an update that caused this and they were working on it. Yesterday I fell to an 88 but I'm back to normal today. So they still must be tweaking it.
Oh I hope that's write. I'm pretty insecure. I like to see my score over 95, I'm at 92 now. Haven't been there in a long time but I guess I have to work on that ego thing.
Mine is 72 right now which is an all time low for me I never came below the 80 mark for the last 14 months. I just published a hub yesterday and was expecting it to rise a bit, but its has dropped 8-10 points I think things may still be wrong!!
Yea actually Im more concerned with my adsense!
How many clicks do I need to earn anything???
Im getting dizzy reading this n that .
And page views certainly do not correspond with traffic indicated??
I've been with Hubpages for 18 months, and haven't been below 90 since I joined. Yesterday it was at 83 and this morning it was at 76! All I did was join one fan club and write a hub with no external links (couldn't be considered overly promotional)
Right there with you guys, I haven't been below the 90's since my first week here and now I log into a 79. Funny thing is, all my hubscores are fluctuating close to normal. Must be a slow bug to fix, oh well!
Yes your even lower than my score. I was at 88 dropping to 84 only. I don't know tomorrow.
so probably it has something to do with the adsense site maintenance and the earnings in adsense is not even updated for over a week already. Maybe when things will be fixed it will be normalize again.
Maggie - not sure if you will see this but my score has plummeted to 32 from an average of 93. It's rather dis-heartening when I've worked really hard this week.
I noticed a rather slight drop from 95 to 89, but without any of my hub scores changing my score became 32 also. In 24 hrs this is amazing, wonder how fast it can go the other direction. Let's watch, wait and see. Looks lioke something in the system, not jsut me. Thanks Bard for starting this forum.
My score has been steadily rising again. But I can see there are still some scores lower than usual. Thought the problem was already fixed?
My self asteem is being affected here. Every day My score goes down by 10...hummmm.
Wow...you know something's whacked when Princessa's score is 32! Hopefully HP will get it all ironed out soon!
I have been with HubPages for just 4 months but have taken great care of my HubScore--I have been around a 90-92 for two months now with just 31 hubs--now my score is a 33? What a disappointing beat down. Hope they fix the bug--
What I don't get, the hubbers who have really great hubs, have been here a long time, consistently have high scores are the ones who's scores are tanking.
Then there is me, the average writer, mom of two, wife to one and a hubscore of 92 (last I checked). Baffles me!
Looks like things are back in place. Look up Princessa is back on 99! Now relax folks Princessa and all those who were affected and have recovered now (refer to the list I have mentioned in my previous post above) are gonna treat us! So where is the party Princessa and Co.? I hope all are invited!

Have you noticed that your Hubscores have been submerging lately? But of course they don't matter and we are told to ignore them. Something is afoot on the old flip flop flipper. I suspect that the traffic contribution has been toned down and QAP is more dominant. It will me nice when hubscore and...

Why does it bug me so much when I see my hubscores going down? It is not supposed to matter, especially when it is just a point or 2 but it really gets to me.

Hi,I have this hub http://hubpages.com/hub/How-to-Make-a-H … dant-Charmfor a few weeks and it was at a hubscore of 84 just a few days ago and today it's at 76. I know I shouldnt worry too much about the hubscore, but I wondered why the sudden drop and if it was due to the recent hub changes...

So my author hubscore has been consistantly going down. I am at 93 today which is lower than I have been in many months. Lately I have been addding a lot of hubs, at least one per day over the lat two weeks. However many of them are hubs that promote the selling of...

I'd like to suggest we get rid of Hubber Score - and perhaps even Hub Scores. They:- are constantly misunderstood;- cause a lot of upset and grief in the forums; and- encourage newbie Hubbers to direct their efforts in entirely wrong directionsFor instance, I've known newbie Hubbers stop...

My hubscore has dropped to the lowest in over two years! At the same time I have published a new hub and had comments for it!
