Is it true we will no longer be able to link to our own sites from our profiles?

Some hubbers are choosing to upgrade their profiles already, and I believe sometime in the future we will all automatically upgrade to the new profiles. They look great, but I'm concerned that some are saying we will no longer be able to link to our own sites or own blogs from these new profiles. Does anyone know the truth about this? If it is true, how do you feel about that?

It appears you can link to selected social networks (Facebook, Twitter, Google +, Linked In & Pininterest) along with one personal website. I mostly like the new layout, but it would be nice to be able to have more options in terms of personal links.

I just changed over today, and, NO, I now have no means on my profile page to place ANY Of my own links. And, yourrofile is cut to just 500 characters. It LOOKS very nice, but we, as Hubberw just
oat a lot of individuality, I am afraid.

It doesn't limit your profile to 500 characters - you just have to click through to see more than.

No, you can't direct link the same way, but you can add a non-social networking link. You can also chose hubs to highlight, which is great.

I switched over and found some very specific slots for linking to web pages.  Most are for specified social sites but one I could use for one of my own sites.  You might want to go back and look again.

Thanks, relache - I see is there is space for one link to one's own site or blog, but when one has more than just one or two sites of one's own, and usually links to those in the 1st  main part of a profile that people see, it's a little upsetting.

If it is true I don't like it at all! I have worked very hard to get were I can just start to do that and I do not make any money here.

I have a bit of traffic coming to my own sites and blogs every month from HubPages, through the links on my profile. That HubPages traffic to my own sites from my profile page will stop coming when we all automatically have to get the new profile.

That is a real shame, many of us work very hard here and I know it helps HP but we have to have some incentive too.

This will cause me to question how much of a future I intend to have on HubPages.
