Writing hubs that contain useful information for readers or which are entertaining, funny, etc, is a good way to start. Some authors on Hubpages are earning over a thousand dollars a month but it takes a lot of work and a lot of good articles. Best of luck.

Just keep writing original unique content.  Answer questions, ask questions, leave comments to other Hubbers on their hubs and head over to the forums to meet some really great people and awesome writers.

    1) Original Content
    2) SEO Principals
    3) Time
    4) Patience

I'm trying to put it all together myself. I think it also helps if you write on finance, travel or technology, but that is more of a guess than anything.

Writing original content is ofcourse the key.  But if you want to be a success and/or make money, you need to research the areas first to see the demand and to make sure it is not in an oversaturated niche.

    Try the following:

Choose a topic and break it down into sub topics

Use the google adwords keyword tool to ascertain keyword phrases

Choose one with less than 20,000 searches

Write a few hubpages using the keyword phrases while still ensuring they read well.

    Ping your hubpages

Social bookmark your hubpages on at least 10 social bookmarking sites (eg digg).

Write comments on blogs and put your webaddress (when the field asks you to) as your hub post.  This way if people click on your name they will be taken to the hub post.

    Hope this helps.

Write about what interests you that is also likely to have a niche audience. Larger audiences are okay, too, but not essential.

Write passionately, honestly, and as well as you can. Yes, spelling and grammar is important.

Actually i was just inquiring as to what key ideas/tips people who are successful may suggest for someone who is just starting up, to get on that road. In no way did I imply i expected this to be an over night occurence, instead I wanted to understand the key factors which contribute to becoming successful in time.
