The ads appear automatically.  If you want Amazon and eBay ads, you have to sign up for those programs and then add the revenue capsules to your Hubs.

I recommend reading some of Darkside's Hubs on How to Hub as well as Embitca's.

Also don't forget to sign-up for a Google Adsense account if you haven't done so already.  And  as far as pics you can take your own originals or you can get free pics that's ok for public usage at sites like http://photobucket.com and http://www.sxc.hu

I have many questions- as i try to go through the steps, i have more and more questions. I hope someone knowledgeale will be willing to answer my questions as i go along smile
Well here is the first of my zillions of questions:
I tried to sign up with kontera. I fill out this form, and then i get this message about some kind of tag and they tell me to copy and paste it on all site pages and blah blah. What does THIS mean?? They give me some kind of code- is that the tag? And where and how am i supposed to paste it? Do i paste it on every article i write? And if i do so, will their ads appear automatically? Oh, i am so confused- i'm going crazy!

    Risa,

Kontera is presuming you have your own website.  Here at HubPages, you'll want to follow HubPages instructions,

Thanks again.I took a look at photobuckets. It says something about joining. Do you have to join to use the photos on the site? Also, how do you bring the photos from the site, and put it on your hub-page? Step by step instructions please. Sorry all the questions.

I don't recommend Photobucket.  Yes you can use the photos there but a lot of them are stolen from photographers so even though you're not doing wrong, you're condoning theft by other people (Photobucket says - in its small print - that members shouldn't use copyright photos but it does nothing to police it or even highlight the fact, so a huge proportion of the photos on the site are "stolen" without any credit to the original photographer).

You can use Flickr - use the Advanced Search and click the Creative Commons and "for commercial use" boxes.  You can use any of the photos that come up in that search, provided you thank the photographer in your Hub and include a link to their Photostream page.
