    Perturbed about your Hubber Score?
Perturbed about the unfairness of other Hubber's Hubber score?
Perturbed about the unfairness of life?
    We have it here.

Since I'm the one that started this thread, I get to be club president. If my profile score should ever see 90 again, I'll resign and we will hold elections. Only those who have posted on this thread are eligible for nomination.

Meanwhile, I submit that anyone who has been here several years and has earned serious money for HP deserves a profile score of 90 or better.

    What say you?

Hey there, stranger!  I'm not perturbed one bit since I've maintained a score in the 80s and haven't written on HP in years.  Things got far to strange for me.  I know lots of Hubbers weep, wail, and moan (from The Brave Little Toaster) about the good ole days, and probably get annoyed, but it is true.

My Hubber score is pretty constant, but my contributions have been nil in comparison this year. Once in the 90's over the past year or so settled at 82 - 86. I agree traffic has an impact. I play with it with two theories today from physics. One is Energy and Entropy. The other is Electricity and Ohms Law. So far Ohms law seems most reasonable smile Just kidding about . . .

Throw out the whole system, or tell us real nuts and bolts of how it actually works.

Your score is especially wrong. What's up with that?

          C'est la vie!
I have given up trying to understand how these scores work.

I think HP is mad at me for not posting any recent hubs.

I think HP denies it, but I am 100% positive our scores are affected by traffic. Not my fault I lost over half when HP killed off the subdomains. Apparently Google really liked me.

What was your normal range before that?

I was in the land of 90 to 92. I was happy, content, and all was right with the world.

Ha ha..I read somewhere that a score above 85 is in the very top percentile on HP so you are still right there my friend!

There is a stat breakdown of it somewhere on here. I'll try to find it and post it.

Six years ago when I joined Hub Pages my score was 95 -99 ,   a poet  and short story writer .   It seemed good enough for H-P then however lately ,   50 is about average ,  So I say no more whining  ,    to H## with  hub pages , they're done with me , I'm done with them .   I have been un-publishing my hubs watching my score rise  and will continue to do so .  Joining other creative writing sights .   It takes almost as long to un-publish a thousand hubs as it did to write them though , Oh well !
As to   Creative writing for Hub Pages , they care nothing  for art , merely for   repetitious  substance writers ..........$

My score was in the 90's couple years ago now (and I left hub for over a year) It languishes at 87...frankly I don't care...when the mood hits me I pop in and write a hub or two...never made a dime here in over 4 years although my hubs score well  ...I read work written by those I have followed since joining and  feel badly for those losing traffic and $ here...  talent is losing to commercialize trash.

I'd like to join the club. I'm convinced traffic directly affects our profile/hubberscore but in a different way. Ever since they changed the algorithm to minimize the impact of high traffic on hubberscore, I've noticed mine decrease whenever traffic increases. It's like clockwork, lasts for a day or so then goes back up.

If this is any consolation, I used to be a mid- to high 90s hubber consistently, even making the 100 Club a few times. Now I just accept it is as is, due to algo changes, tougher QAP, elimination of subdomains, and now, the reorg with the new sites.

I also believe my score is related to not producing any new hubs lately. I agree with you para, hitting anything below 85-90 when you have the same hubs that said you produce "100 hubberscore work" is pretty jarring. Perception is everything, right?

I must say I do feel unloved.

The good news? Being preoccupied with this helps us forget about all the gremlins in the real world.

I do believe my score has dropped another 2 points since I started this thread. It's now an 8 point drop since my peak a year ago. Doomed I am. big_smile

  12. paradigmsearch profile image60
    paradigmsearchposted 8 years ago

And now my score is 84. Which means...

    A. I've reached a new, multi-year, record low.

    B. HP is now telling all the search engines the links in my hubs go to commercial or other untrustworthy sites.

    C. Paranoia is setting in as to what in the hell does HP suddenly hate about me and/or my account?

Happy Monday Morning! My club presidency is assured.
