Anyone seeing Flipboard traffic without self promotion?

I've had several hundred views from Flipboard in the last couple of days for a page that I did not flip myself. Assuming no one here took pity on me and flipped it, that is my first legit traffic from that site.

Anyone else getting a good result from the new button?

Sorry Will, if it was your sander hub, I'm probably responsible. My humblest apologies!

Now that you have reminded me about that button, I will try to do more of the same for other writers.

        Well, thanks for that.

I wondered when HP launched the button whether they had in mind ordinary visitors or writers looking for a quick rip of traffic.

It would have been better news if it had been some dedicated Flipboard enthusiast, to be honest.

All concerned should go easy with that button, if you do not want Flipboard to go the same way as Digg.

I will see if it makes me any money, before I complain too much, though lol.

Will definitely go easy on the button.   In fact. I have not even tried it yet. I always use the URL method when flipping something.

A few months back, before the button was even a thing, I had one niche site hub that was flipped by someone over there who gets some real traffic.  It was subsequently reflipped multiple times in a couple of days and I saw a huge, albeit short-lived, surge in traffic. It did add a nice bonus to my payout that month though with no effort by me so that was nice smile.

Every so often this happens to a hub. It's always a nice surprise when it does.  So far, the buttons haven't really done anything noticeable for me, but I hope that changes.  Most people I know have no clue what Flipboard even is.  I've introduced it to several people.

When a hub goes crazy for a few days it's usually Facebook or Pinterest for mine.

    Congratulations on the traffic!
I can't figure out how Flipboard works, but I'm working on it!

Me neither. I need to persevere with it.

I can't see any evidence that the traffic translated into income but it was only a small surge compared to the tidal wave some people experience.

The page's dwell time only dropped from around six and a half minutes to four and a half minutes, which suggest the Flipboard crowd actually read stuff. Unfortunately, they do not buy stuff.
