If you have, say, 3 ads on a page, for every page view, should you be getting 3 impressions, or 1?

I don't get much traffic, but I'm proud of what I do get. Every morning and night I take note of the number of views to see what my numbers were. My page views are not adding up to my impressions I'm getting paid for....
