every other day or so, someone leaves nasty comments on my hubs. it is always a new account with no profile, no avatar, and no fans. sometimes they pick the same hub and leave the same comment. i know because they always misspell the word "amok".

i have to wonder about the mental stability of a person who, instead of concentrating on themselves, feels some strange compulsion to actively seek out another hubber just to leave rude comments on their hubs. maybe that is because their own hubs suck or something, hmm?

plus they are cowards because they don't have the won-tons to do it using their REAL account.

    :p

p.s. yes i just delete them and if this keeps up i will have no choice but to clutter the HubTeam's inbox with every single one and eventually they will look for this person's IP address and find out who they are and ban them for good.

I suggest you ignore this person becasue he/she is just trashy and trivial.

If someone chooses to not register with the site, this really is the only way to deal with this type of problem.  Hang in there, and please do keep reporting them.  You might want to deny them, but not delete them so that the Hub team has better info on what IP they are using.

That really is annoying.  I had something like this happen to me a few weeks ago.  The person was really rude and was not a member of HubPages and so I was unable to reply to their comments--seems completely unfair in that sense.  It's cowardly to just go to someone's hub and pee on their floor mad

I hope the HubPages team is able to resolve this, cosette.  I'm sure you are not the first to experience this, and I'm sure you won't be the last!

but i will call them out on their rapaciousness in a forum post, the little creeps. smile yikes big_smile
p.s. i can't believe anyone could find anything bad in any of your hubs Dohn. that smacks of pure jealousy as far as i am concerned.

Is it the same ip address with all the posts?

Depends on the ISP. Some use dynamic IP addresses, others use static. If it's dynamic the IP will change every time the user connects.

You know Nelle - I wonder about the ip address. It was ralwus that pointed out to me that I have two (or maybe it was three) different ip addresses that show up when I leave a comment.

Which is odd because I only have the one laptop, one isp and I can't remember a time when I surfed the net when not at home.

It sometimes puzzles me. And if i'm leaving two or three different ip addresses from the same base - how many others do the same.

And I'm sorry cosette - I was answering Nelle - not your OP. Apologies. As with others ... I'd ignore. Eejits smile

that's ok, frogdropping, no problem. smile

is it the same IP address? well the strange thing about it is, i can usually see IP addresses when people leave comments but not in this case. it's always an "unverified person". if i could see their IP address i would definitely track it. or maybe i am not noticing it...?

they usually do it after i go to bed, haha...how funny and creepy all at once neutral

Most of us get this kind of thing after being here awhile. It's pathetic and unpleasant but it's the internet. When people think they are anonymous they do weird things.

After awhile most of the people who profess ot hate me get bored and go bother someone else. If you click "This comment is spam" I think it helps to block those kinds of comments, but I've had that not work--I mean if someone is determined to be a dick they'll just reregister and do it again.

You can also designate only Hub Page members can comment when you publish a Hub, but like you say, sometimes people register just to leave hate mail.

Sorry that is happening to you. It sucks.

yeah i click delete forever and spam etc. sometimes it comes with a "not spam" button.

i have a good moat around me and still the dragon finds a way to thwart it. they sure are going to a lot of trouble to hate on me, heh. wink

Ew, I haven't been 'graced' with such a relentless jerk yet...that really stinks. It's creepy someone would go out of their way, creating new accounts and consistently spamming you...it's just as disturbing as annoying!sad

I have noticed over time that those who are getting on well and are pretty happy about life get more of these weird comments.
Also I see a propensity to direct them at females.

I think you should send the comments to the team Cosette.
Maddie is doing it too easy anyway! (kidding Maddie.)

if this is happening several times, why wait, just do what you say here exactly, so it will stop. No need for that kind of stuff.

It might not be a new person, could be a regular who wants to pose as a new person...you never know. I'd turn the posts in.
