I have recently been receiving the error message, "please enter a comment before posting" when I try to post a single sentence comment. I am aware that this is a recurring problem. It usually happens, as I say, when my comment is only 1 line long. Hope this helps!
Copy the comment(so that you need not type again), refresh the page and post it again. It works, worked for me.
