My Marriage Depends On Hubpages

Hey Fellow Hubbers, here is my story. I was in a job for 5 years from 2004-2009 and was pretty happy about it. But suddenly in late 2009 my mother fell seriously ill with heart and kidney complications. I stayed in a different city while my parents stayed in another. I had no options but to return back home as there was no one to take care of my mom as I have no siblings.  Later my mother's health condition deteriorated and I had to resign from my job. I still don’t have a job from late 2009 not because I couldn’t get one but because I cannot go for a job due to my mother’s illness.

It was around this time that I discovered hubpages. I signed up for hubpages on 7th October 2009 but could not work for first six months as I had no time for anything except my mother. I started working for hubpages in March 2010. I had just got an adsense account approved from a different site and associated it with hubpages. I published a number of hubs but as had no idea about SEO and keyword research, could not earn much for the first 6-7 months. I really focused on SEO and keyword from November 2010. Things started to improve but not remarkably.

In late December i.e. 27th December I purchased Market Samurai Keyword Tool to take keyword research and SEO efforts a step further. We had the Money Grows On Hubs Contest in January where I participated and felt really special to have won three Daily Drawing Wins. I published hubs daily for the contest and January 2010 was my best month in terms of earning. I earned over $37 in January. February has started with a bang and I have already made nearly half my January earnings just in the first 4 days of February.

Now coming to topic heading that my marriage depends on Hubpages. Though I am earning a small revenue but have complete faith that things will improve with time. As I don't have a job and my online income is not great either I still have to wait for marriage even though I am 30. But I really need a partner who can come and help me in taking care of my house and my mother. I have about 300 hubs right now and plan to reach 1000 hubs by end of this year. I am also aiming to reach between $300-$500/ month from Hubpages by end of 2011. This much earning on a consistent basis can help me marry and start a family.

Dear Friends please pray for my success and any tips from your side will always be appreciated. I know the post is a bit long. Thanks for patiently reading it. I always appreciate the love and support I receive from the hub community.

Diversify. The early you branch out from single source of income less frustration you'll see in life. Don't worry much about marriage and life. Everything will be fine because you're working hard. Just don't get too much stress as this affects health. For the rest, good luck and have fun.

I admire you for taking care of your mother.  I am also an only child and took care of my mom during her last months.  While you focus on her health, though, remember that you also need to care for yourself and your spirit.
Go out sometimes and get away from your concern, your situation.  Perhaps you'll meet someone.
And the best wishes to you on HubPages!

I think you'll find a wealth of information on hubs that you'll find helpful.  Just look at doodlebug's most recent hub about how he lives on article writing income.

    Hi Sid,

A lot of people don't like it for various reasons, but Demand Studios pays twice a week. There is no residual income/no revenue share (unless you want to write ehow rev share), so it's not great for long-term, but a lot of people who MUST make some money right now like it for the knowledge that they will get paid. I write for LiveStrong from time to time, especially articles that I don't think would generate as much traffic here because the titles are so specific or narrow or specialized. If you are looking to diversify, it's something to consider.

You seem like a good man and hard working, so I'll give ya some good advice. As soon as you can start your own sites and get a few different places on the net for money.

Depending totally on one site on the net, no matter who it is, is very risky. In today's world it's always a matter of when, not if, things change with a company.

Your very own sites are the only constant, and even then you have to adapt to the latest fads and technology.

Branch out and make your online empire and you'll be much safer. smile

    Hi Bill,
I always appreciate your advice and have highest regards for you as a fellow hubber. Starting my own site is something I have in my mind but have couple of issues for that. First is the financial constraint as I am not making too much money right now need to first get some money. Second issue is my tech knowledge and SEO knowledge are still dismal and would like to upgrade them before starting a site of my own.

As for diversifying I would love to but don't know which site is good. I hear good about a site and the next day I find someone in Hubpages forum speaking ill about it. Not too sure but may join Infobarrel next month. Any advice from your end would be highly appreciated. smile

It sounds to me as though you are pretty smart, for I have not been able to make much here, but I write for the joy of writing and have not researched out much about the money end.
One suggestion might be, and I told my own children this--learn to make money doing the thing that you love most in life, and it worked for them.  Obviously you have internet access, so decide to school yourself in whatever area you feel you should.  Knowledge is power, and right now you have the time.
As far as marriage goes, the kind of love you need for marriage is called tolerance.  Be patient and the right lady will cross your path.  You are a very good son, and God honors that.

Sid, you can make more dollar from hubpages if you write more 'product review' hubs.

    All the best.

Good luck. But if I were you, don't even think about starting a family until you are financially secure, it wouldn't be fair to them.

I hope that you are successful in writing for Hubpages, and whatever you decide to do.  Goals are important, it looks as if you have no problem creating them.
