    http://www.google.com/trends

    2008 Election Trends

    http://www.google.com/intl/en/trends/elections/

    http://buzz.yahoo.com/

And there's a lot more you can track down with your friend http://google.com.

Now here is what you want to do. Look for items that appear in the top 10 on both lists and do a Hub Page or a Blog if your doing that like me on the subject. If you pick your associated key words carefully and you do original only content you may be in for a pleasant surprise when you see the traffic pour in.

You can take it to another level and submit Press Releases to the below site.

    http://www.prnewswire.com/

    http://www.free-press-release.com/

And there are of course others where you can submit a press release about your new Hub Page. Be sure you keep your Hub Page on topic and exactly about the subject you found on Google Trends or Yahoo Buzz. Most of the Press Release Sites provide you with a place to add a link. Be sure to use the link to your new Hub Page. If you hit it just right you may find you will receive huge traffic to your Hub Page.

I have visited prnewswire.com but they charge for membership. Does they provide any free membership?
Can I post without being a member?

    I don't understand the point...?  Unless you are selling something like Obama tee-shirts; what Good is all this none-targeted traffic to you?  You just want to be famous? :}

That is a standard marketing waste of time - non-targeted traffic.

You don't mention what you are actually achieving by doing this?  And Please don't say adword clicks or the like because that is NOT worth the effort.

What are you Achieving by doing that?  What is anyone Gaining by the hub that they cannot read in the news; I suppose your point of view would be the only thing...which, I suppose is a part of what hubbing is about - but I feel it is much more about expressing knowledge and also support for one another.

The more views you get for your hub pages the more your adsense ads are seen and the more clicks your ads will get and the more money you will make. Its really nice to get those Google Checks. Bottomline that's what Hub Pages is all about is making money from the adsense ads.

Its all about the traffic. The more traffic you get the more money you will make.

I think that Melanie is saying that some traffic is better than others...not all traffic monetizes well.

Even if you don't make much money directly, if your content is really compelling it can lead to natural back link growth (ie. other people writing about and linking to your hub).  Over time this kind of link growth will help raise the authority of all of your hubs.

It's targeted traffic for that specific hub page. It may not work for the rest of your hub pages/network, but it will be targeted for the hub page, hopefully generating adsense clicks.

I agree with you Paul. If our writing is good we can get an oppurtunity of being established as  an author for print media too.
