Suppose you are the Billionaire and you do have only one son by the grace of GOD but unfortunately by the age of 14 years You heard from doctor that he does One big hole in his heart which cannot be operative. What would you like to do then? If you know that their is clone technology is there which can work and make his son life back?
I would be favor to say YES until and unless technology is being used for GOOD cause. EG: We all country does have nuclear power. Which does have positive effects and negative effects too. But we still are using it.
No, absolutely not. There are numerous reasons as to why I think cloning humans should never happen, but the main one is that If we start cloning humans, humanity will become even more plastic than it already is. What I mean by that is that, it will be all designer babies and people selling their genes etc on the market which means more corruption, narcissism, greed, competition etc. We need to learn to accept ourselves and each other as well as learn to share, not fight to monopolize anything that resembles a resource, (which cloning would become) as we seem to continuously do!
Good question. Did you get the idea for this question from a movie or idea for a movie?
Peace
I have to say I agree with Richwriter.
I am not sure it is really our place to change these things or to mess with genetics in this way.
Things are made they way they are for a reason, I do not think we have the right to play God with humanity.
I feel it depends on the situation. Every technology or bio science as you may call it here has its own goods and bads. Personally i feel, i would never want to be cloned or like if any of my friends and family get cloned.
I would also disagree to sagbee on his answer. As far as i know the clone technology can only clone a person and can never make a dying person come to life. And if i am that billionaire and i have one dying son, i would rather let nature do what it wanted. Already we have done a lot against nature. I would be happy to live with my sons memories, rather clone him. Because i would know he is not really MY SON, and i would never share the same feelings with him. Perhaps, i would not be able to satisfy his needs. The true need i mean, which i suppose is the true love.
That depends... Does the person being cloned consent? If so I'm not against it because it would be really no different than having a twin of a different age. After all, twins have the same DNA and often the same fingerprints but we don't see ourselves getting all worked up over them (or even triplets for that matter).
Suppose we had a system where every time someone dies, they're cloned again back to the age that they were most comfortable with. There's one problem: it won't be you. Sure it will be identical genetically and very similar psychologically, but that's just it; they will only be from a very similar psychological standpoint because, as psychology (my field of study) tells us, nurture actually has a strong bearing on the development of the mind, whereas nature would be whatever is cloned.
So you see? Cloning is perfectly alright as it wouldn't be you at all, in fact! Amazing thought, isn't it?
yes i do. if it will benefit us, i don't have a problem with it.
no we have lots of people now do not need any extra of the same person
Depends on the person. If it's Charlie Sheen, I say go for it.
Yes it is ok to clone a person. The ethics involved as well as the methodology is not far removed from an in vitro pregnancy and there may come a point where we as a species will benefit in aggregate from allowing cloning at any level of total reproductive percentages.
No, but if it were allowed I don't think it should be until the issues of human clones and their rights are resolved as well as the rights of each individual to their own DNA.
Would it be right for me to pay to have a clone of myself made so that I could have its heart, thereby killing the clone and possibly even making it suffer? Could anyone have rights to clone me (the State for instance)? Could I sell those rights?
What if someone cloned a replacement for a loved one who died? Could a parent legally clone their minor child? What are a child's DNA rights? Are they old enough to make that decision? Who will? The State which has no love for or connection to the child, or the parent?
It's so complicated that I think we should leave it alone. For instance, if I have rights to my DNA and I have a clone made, does it have rights too, or am I its owner? Could I clone myself to be a slave to myself? Could I clone myself as a member of the opposite sex and marry myself?
Yes .
If the person is ok with it , then why not .
in the future they may clone for reasons we can't being to know today . cloneing can make new lungs , a heart , a kidney , ect... that can replace failing organs with out haveing to take exspensive anti-rejection drugs the rest of your life .
i would let myself be cloned .

When the first human is cloned, where will his "soul" come from?Human cloning is not illegal in some countries. Eventually someone will do it. If you believe in the concept of a soul, what will happen to this new human? Will they be soul-less or will they share the soul...

Is successful cloning possible at this point in time? With all the advances in sciences since I first became aware of the idea of cloning, when I was a little girl, I wonder why it's not been perfected yet. Why isn't cloning a technology that works yet?
